Cubelets are a fast and easy way to engage children and adults in learning the basics of robots and coding by building modular robots from programed cubes. Tactile Outer Space Facilitator Our Tactile Outer Space table uses a variety of touchable 3-D printed materials to engage visitors with outer space. Originally designed to be an accessible activity for our blind and low vision guests, but anyone can enjoy these activities! Facilitators will help guests interpret the models, help guests access the Universe of Sound website via a tablet and assist in making pipe cleaner constellations. Training and background materials are provided. Tactile Outer Space Facilitators usually sit behind a table during their shift. Set up requires minimal lifting and carrying of materials. Discovery World is looking for help with a n electronic file organization project! What is on these archive drives? Help us sort, organize, and rename old Discovery World files. DUTIES Look through various archive drives, copying relevant files to a new drive, and renaming them based on an established convention. Describe the files as needed. Direction will be given on your first shift. Volunteer will work with the Chief Operating Officer and Manager of Technology Support and Implementation on this project . QUALIFICATIONS This is a position for a single volunteer that will be working alone in a conference room atmosphere with some oversight. Needs to have strong organizational and communication skills and be able to self-motivate. Need to be able to bend, lift, and twist. May need to carry up to 4 0 lbs. at times for short distances. Some sitting and standing required. Liability and Confidentiality Waiver signature and online background check are required . Phone interview required .

Engage with museum guests at the All Aboard model railroad exhibit! The five train, 35-foot HO-scale layout features Milwaukee landmarks. The Conductor may be tasked with basic daily upkeep but will mainly engage with guests of all ages during open hours. The main goal of this role is to answer questions about the layout and facilitate understanding of how railroads work and have impacted the development of Milwaukee and innovation in general. Shifts available Wednesday-Sunday 9am-4pm. Training and background materials provided. Conductors can be seated for portions of their shift, but some standing, and walking will be required.
