Mission Statement

The Daughters of Charity, the founders of Sacred Heart Hospital, have been committed to providing high quality, compassionate healthcare for all since arriving in Northwest Florida in 1915. Continuing their mission, we commit ourselves to serving all persons with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable.

Description

At the core of Sacred Heart's long and proud tradition of caring for the sick, the poor and the vulnerable, stands a group of volunteers whose willing hearts and helping hands have served generations of families during their time in need.

Volunteers have a strong impact on our community hospital, adding a personal touch to customer service and playing an integral role in supporting Sacred Heart's reputation for providing high quality, compassionate healthcare to all. Special skills are nice, but not required to be a volunteer -- just a willing heart and a warm smile!

The rewards of volunteering are as individual as each volunteer, with all of our volunteers enjoying the special benefits of:

  • A free meal in the hospital cafeteria on the days they volunteer
  • Free flu vaccines
  • An open invitation to participate in Sacred Heart's special events and activities
