Mission Statement

Mission

To make the Morris Performing Arts Center the premier performing arts center in the region. To be fair in pricing, competent in operations, maintain quality service and operate the Morris Performing Arts Center as a professional, well-organized business.

Description

The Morris Performing Arts Center, including the Leighton Theater and the Palais Royale Ballroom is owned and operated by the City of South Bend. A volunteer board, Morris Entertainment, Inc. advises on facility operations and oversees and carries out fundraising efforts for the complex. All personnel of the Morris are paid by the City of South Bend and are City of South Bend Employees.

The Morris Performing Arts CenterĂ¢ s Leighton Theater is a rental facility - the Morris does not present its own programs. Instead, it appeals to promoters and agents to bring in touring shows. The Morris offers the benefits of a full-service rental house: in-house box office with on-line ticketing capabilities, fully trained house staff including security and ushers, stagehand union (I.A.T.S.E. Local 187), stage manager and facility-sponsored event marketing. It relies for its revenue on facility rental fees and box office charges as paid by the promoters.
