Mission Statement

Catawba Lands Conservancy is a nonprofit land trust that permanently protects land, water and wildlife habitat to enhance your quality of life in North Carolina's Southern Piedmont and Lower Catawba River Basin.

Description

A land trust is a nonprofit organization that actively works to conserve land by undertaking or assisting in direct land transactions--primarily the purchase or acceptance of donations of land or conservation easements. The Conservancy is one of 23 land trusts in North Carolina working to save the places you love by protecting our land, water and wildlife habitat.

The Conservancy currently protects more than 6,200 acres in its six-county service area. Support from more than 1,400 members, 50 corporate partners and variety of government and foundation supporters make our work possible. Hundreds of volunteers have donated their time. More than 65 private landowners have entrusted to us what is, in most cases, their most valued and precious possession. These people are just like you. They have a vision for the future of this region, and the Conservancy
is making that vision a reality with each property it protects.
