To motivate and empower children in low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long term program of mentoring, tutoring and enrichment, and tuition assistance for higher education.

Description

"I Have a Dream" provides a year-round educational support program for a group of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students living in Pisgah View Public Housing Community. From now until the students' high school graduation, we will provide an after school and summer program each year to help the students attain their goals and live up to their potential. Activities will include educational and cultural enrichment, tutoring, mentoring, field trips, parent involvement, and life skills. When the students graduate from high school, they are eligible for a "last dollar" amount of tuition assistance for higher education.
