The Italian Home for Children exists as a resource for children and families in crisis irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion or national origin. Within the context of existing programs, the Italian Home seeks to:
· Protect the rights of children;
· Promote the highest standards of education, care and treatment for children;
· Support and preserve the relationship between a child and his/her family and community;
· Accept the family system as the one in which the child is most likely to succeed; and
· Assist children and families in all efforts that promote a healthy reintegration at the earliest possible time.
The Italian Home for Children is a treatment facility offering a variety of residential and community based programs serving emotionally disturbed and special needs children ages 4 to 14 and their families. Known as the " home of last resort" for the most severely abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children of the Greater Boston area, the Italian Home offers state-of-the-art therapies and around-the-clock nurturing to help children rebuild their lives. Our goal is to reintegrate them back into their schools, families and communities by giving them the tools to cope with their emotional scars.
