Mission Statement

The mission of BlueMoon Meadows, Inc. is to reduce the number of domestic pets being relinquished and unnecessarily euthanized each year throughout the United States due to the death or disability of their human companions.

Description

BlueMoon Meadows offers an alternative solution to the shelter system, the streets, or private euthanasia for people who can no longer provide for their pets because of the owner's death or long-term illness. We educate people about alternatives to the shelter system by encouraging them to make plans for their pets' continued care and by offering lifetime care for orphaned pets. Lifetime care is provided through our private adoption services and, in the future, through our group family home. The pets in our care are, or once were, beloved companions. They are not unwanted, unloved strays, but the unfortunate victims of their owner's misfortunate death or illness. BlueMoon Meadows is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization operating out of Rochester, New York. BlueMoon Meadows depends entirely on donations from people who love animals. We are working throughout New York State and nationally to provide pet owners with comprehensive information and lifetime care solutions - solutions that will ensure that their pets will always have care, even after they are gone or can no longer care for their pets themselves. Our experienced team is passionate about animals and their well-being. At BlueMoon Meadows, we believe that our lives are enriched by pets, and we understand every owner's fear of leaving them behind. We provide care and protection for pets whose owners are critically ill or deceased and thereby unable to guard their companions against the uncertainties in life.
