Mission Statement
To engage Alameda's citizenry, political, and business communities to create an exemplary public school system, thus ensuring Alameda's future economic viatality and unique quality of life.
Description
Founded in 1982, AEF is committed to serving Alameda's public school teachers and students. We work toward our mission by providing teacher mini-grants, offering scholarships, funding projects and materials which are outside of the District's budgetary priorities, and informing the community about our schools. We maintain a comprehensive website, publish quarterly newsletters, and sustain deep community connections so that all of Alameda's citizenry is engaged in the success of our public schools. Whether it is in staging our annual Gala Concert for Music in the Schools, operating our Free Teacher Supply Store, or offering After-School Enrichment classes, we approach our endeavors with a strong belief that Alameda's young people deserve the very best educational opportunities we can give them.
