Mission Statement

TASC's mission is to help people maintain their health, independence, and dignity by mobilizing volunteer drivers to provide rides to eligible residents of the NH seacoast communities we serve.

Description

TASC recruits volunteer drivers to help transit-dependent seniors and other adults with disabilities get where they need to go. TASC serves eligible residents of the towns of Brentwood, East Kingston, Exeter, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, North Hampton, Rye, Seabrook, and Stratham, NH. Since the middle of March 2020, TASC volunteer drivers have responsibly provided more than 4200 rides with no known transmission of COVID-19. In order to keep this great record going we will continue to require that masks be worn by both volunteer drivers & their passengers.

My husband, Tom, a 3+ year volunteer with TASC, recruited me to help last year. We both work and will "tag team" opportunities. The flexibility of when and where we can help works well for us. Carol, the Executive Director is so easy to work with and, like the wonderful people we've been able to meet, very appreciative. We both highly recommend volunteering with TASC!

Driving for TASC lets me feel good about doing something for others that is really needed.

It has been such a pleasure for me to offer rides to people in need. I have never given a ride to anyone that didn’t appreciate it. Also I am able to choose days and times that I am able to do it.

Being a TASC driver for several years has been one of the most fulfilling uses of my time – a chance to pay it forward – and a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. One of this charity’s better features is the ability to schedule around your own activities, with as much or as little driving as you feel comfortable. Try it – you just may like it.

I have been driving for TASC for almost a year. I like that fact that I can make my own schedule and hopefully have made it easier for people to get to their appointments.

The Seacoast does not have good public transportation for people without cars. TASC clients are very appreciative of the rides that can be provided. And for the drivers, it is very satisfying to provide such a simple but important service, and a way to learn about those in our community who are not as fortunate to have family or friends available to care for them. One can drive as much or as little as individual schedules permit. It is the ultimate flexible volunteer opportunity.

I recognize the importance of transportation for the elderly in particular (as I am one of them)--especially for medical appointments, therapy, exercise facilities, etc. And I enjoy being of service and meeting different and interesting people.I recommend TASC as an excellent organization that allows one to accomplish the above at one's own pace through the online sign-up.

For anyone with a car, its a flexible way to do real good for people who need transportation to medical and other appointments. I have met some great people through driving for TASC, and would recommend it to anyone with a few hours of free time during the week.
