The Calhoun Conservation District (CCD) was created in 1945 and has been the leading local conservation entity for more than 68 years. The CCD has a well-established track record working with the environmental and agricultural communities and coordinating conservation projects and programs throughout the county and southwest Michigan that benefit residents and the community as a whole. The CCD is your local source for assistance in all natural resource management and education needs.

Guided by a locally elected Board of Directors, the CCD currently employs six full-time, knowledgeable staff that focus on ground and surface water issues, sustainable agricultural practices, environmental stewardship, education, wildlife habitat, aquatic ecosystems, forestry management, and community projects.
