Mission Statement

Ally Action engages, connects, and educates people to create school communities that are safe, inclusive and effective for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Description

Since 1984, Ally Action (then BANGLE â  Bay Area Network of Gay & Lesbian Educators) has been a community-based organization that has championed tens of thousands of school community members to create learning environments that are free from anti-LGBT harassment and discrimination.

Ally Action does this by building long-standing relationships and engaging in comprehensive approaches to creating safer schools. We offer training, tools and services that support local school community members to make vital and positive differences in each otherâ  s lives.

Ally Action envisions a world in which each and every member of every school community is valued, respected and supported across all layers of individual, family, and community identity and experience; in which each and every member of every school community has the tools and the power to create safe and just school communities for all as an ally.

Ally Action is committed to realizing this vision by working toward social justice and empowering individual and organizational capacities, one classroom at a time.
