Mission Statement

Our mission is the successful transition of military veterans and their families through the provision of housing, counseling, career development, and comprehensive support. We believe all veterans deserve every opportunity to live with dignity and independence. It is our duty at U.S.VETS to deliver on our promise to always serve those who’ve served. Our vision is that all veterans and their families shall have their needs met to regain and maintain productive independence.

Description

Every veteran deserves stability and a place to call home. U.S.VETS follows a Housing First model. Our housing programs offer both temporary and permanent solutions to uplift at-risk, low-income, and homeless veterans and families. Veterans transitioning into civilian life often experience great difficulty and stress during their adjustment. Many times, those difficulties are due to combat-related traumatic events which, if left untreated, could cause serious obstacles to stability and prosperity in civilian life. U.S.VETS offers free counseling and treatment services designed to address the unique needs of each client in a safe and confidential environment. Gainful employment can be a crucial first step to transforming a veteran’s life. Through U.S.VETS Career Centers and career counseling services, we help veterans translate their military experience into civilian employment opportunities. At the same time, we foster long-term relationships with large employers committed to hiring veterans. As a result, we help expedite the placement process and expand employment opportunities for the veterans we serve. Because no two veterans’ circumstances are the same, we review their specific needs to provide a wide range of support designed just for them. Whether it be food and clothing assistance, legal aid, help with military benefits, transportation, peer-to-peer support, crisis intervention, or therapeutic activities, we will do whatever it takes to provide the help our veterans need to get back on their feet.
