Mission Statement

The VCS mission is to provide cost-effective accessible counseling, education, conflict resolution and community organization services that enhance the quality of live for individuals and families. This is accomplished through the pioneering use of professionally trained volunteers by working collaboratively with governmental and other community-based institutions and by responding to determined gaps in service delivery systems throughout the community.

Description

VCS Clinical Services has a number of program areas. The programs are as follows:

Counseling Program - general counseling with individuals age 12 & up - life issues, Domestic Violence, family issues.

Adolescent Services - Program works with adolescents in the "system" or at risk. Works with schools, family and individual.

Parenting Classes - Mother's classes in English and Spanish

Divorce Services - "Helping Children Cope with Divorce" class (state certified) and individual counseling.

Services for older adults and their families - support group and counseling for homebournd elders.

Relatives are parents program - support group and respite for people caring for other people's children.

Cancer Support program - Counseling for patients and their families.
