Adult Literacy Tutoring Program

Empowers adult learners to achieve their goals and transform their lives and families by training and supporting volunteer tutors to deliver basic skills instruction in reading, writing, mathematics and the English language (ESL).

Description

Adult Literacy Tutoring Program:

A one-on-one and small group tutoring program assisting Lake County adults ages 17 and up to in improving their basic reading, writing, math or English language skills. Volunteer tutors are trained and supported by program staff. Tutors meet with adult learners at area public libraries at mutually convenient times for weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Most tutoring takes place in Waukegan and neighboring North Chicago and Zion.
