Mission Statement

To increase the pool of historically underrepresented and under-served students who will be prepared to enter and complete post-secondary studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); thus creating a divese and globally-competitive workforce.

Description

SECME is a teacher-centered, student focused nonprofit pre-college initiative working to engage students in under-served communities. SECME partners schools with one of our 42 member university partners and local industry STEM professionals to create a local alliance focused on helping teachers to engage students in hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and math. SECME works with school districts in 15 states to design school programs that include opportunities for students to compete locally, regionally, and nationally in STEM competitions; learn about STEM majors and careers; and achieve at higher levels.
