Mission Statement

The mission of the Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) is to develop a network of stakeholders who work in a regional capacity to improve the health and quality of life for San Joaquin Valley residents affected by asthma and other respiratory conditions.

Description

The Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) is a newly formed non-profit entity dedicated to reducing the burden of asthma and other similarly related disparities in the San Joaquin Valley.

The mission of the Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) is to develop a network of stakeholders who work in a regional capacity to improve the health and quality of life for San Joaquin Valley residents affected by asthma and other related respiratory conditions. Currently, CCAC has two main programs that address this mission, they include:

1. The Asthma Impact Model (AIM) Program: A multi-component intervention aimed at reducing asthma triggers in the home and school setting, insuring access to and proper use of asthma medications, and facilitating regular visits to a health care provider. Encouraging good indoor air quality practices.

2. The Healthy Air Living Schools (HALS): A school-based outreach campaign focused on education, implementation and utilization of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District's endorsed air quality programs. Encouraging good outdoor air quality practices.

These programs aim to serve not only low-income/underserved individuals but also, intend to empower the broader community as a whole. This is done by advancing health knowledge, creating healthy home and school environments, and by promoting access to quality health care.
