Mission Statement

Mission: Creative Visions is a Human Development Institute dedicated to creating productive citizens, viable neighborhoods, and a safe community

Vision: Break the chain of hopelessness so that at-risk youth, young adults and adults are empowered to make healthy choices, become productive citizens and prosper.

Approach: Engage youth, young adults and adults who are culturally patterned to be "lost to the streets" in gang activity, underground economics and the drug trade.

Method: Through a customized, holistic program of self-development to assist the youth, young adults and adults in achieving a self-sufficient lifestyle, sustainable employment and realistic hopes and goals

Description

Creative Visions offers opportunities to youth and young adults to develop new attitudes and behaviors, coupled with employment opportunities so our youth have the opportunity to live life with dignity, integrity, self-esteem, and honor and be independent of the welfare system in Iowa.

Creative Visions has been in the local community for the last ten years and has provided services to at least 4,000 individuals. Creative Visions continues to develop programming that addresses the needs of our clientele.

No standards or concern for the health & safety of those who received food. 200 to-go containers were filled with hot/cold food and packed into unwashed rubbermaids and set aside for the CEO to deliver to nursing homes and domestic violence victims. The to-go food sat out, waiting between each delivery, for 1+ hours without any heat/cold to keep the food tempered for safe consumption. Gloves were not mandatory or enforced, complete disregard for sanitation of any surface and the kitchen was most disturbing. There was a visible cockroach infestation contaminating food, preparation areas, and exiting cabinets but the staff pretended they did not see them. Rat feces were in the storage rooms of where the plates and to-go containers were kept.
