Mission Statement
Bexar County Opportunities Industrialization Center's mission is to eliminate illiteracy, and poverty and create pathways to self-sufficiency, and long-term economic stability for economically disadvantaged individuals. We provide high-quality workforce training that equips individuals with the skills necessary for sustainable employment. We aim to create opportunities for personal and professional growth while fostering economic self-reliance within the communities we serve. Our commitment extends beyond training; we are dedicated to ensuring that our participants are placed in meaningful jobs that match their skill sets.
Description
Bexar County Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc. (BCOIC) is a dynamic nonprofit focused on advancing education and workforce readiness for economically disadvantaged communities in San Antonio, Texas. Located in San Antonio's east side, BCOIC is an affiliate of Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America. For over 41 years, we have provided top-tier literacy, workforce education, and skills training to individuals of all races and backgrounds, successfully training over 75,000 adults and youth. Our completion and job placement rates exceed 90%, with an 85% job retention rate after 12 months. BCOIC’s services have generated millions in wages, reinvested into the San Antonio economy.
Our core offerings include adult literacy and various workforce training programs, such as computer literacy, vocational training, and soft skills development. We also provide job placement services and career counseling to help participants transition into the workforce smoothly.
