Description
Bexar County Opportunities Industrialization Center Inc., is a San Antonio based nonprofit organization located in the San Antonio east-side community and is an affiliate of Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America. Bexar County OIC has provided quality workforce education and skills training for over 35years to economically disadvantage people of all races and backgrounds from the San Antonio Community.
Bexar County OIC has trained over 50,000 adults and youth, many of whom were categorized as the hardest-to serve population. Many of the graduates are employed throughout the city in such diversified jobs as city staff members, bank managers, mid-managers in major companies, teachers, account executives, medical technicians, personnel specialist, accountants, project managers, and other occupations within the San Antonio community. Bexar County OIC's participant completion and entered employment rate exceeds 90% with a job retention rate of 85% after 12 months of employment.
Bexar County OIC's programs and services to the community has resulted in a significant return on investment of well over 2 million dollars in wages, which have been reinvested in the San Antonio economy, and contributed to moving economically and educationally disadvantaged citizens to self-sufficiency.
