Disaster Recovery through science and innovation.
Restoration Point Foundation provides services related to Disaster Response and Restoration, Volunteer Care, Disaster Training & Education, and Disaster Response Research. Each program service encompasses different strategic plans, both short and long-term, to effectively impact the community affected by the disaster. These programs are integral in the way Restoration Point fulfills its mission to impact the disaster community.
Restoration Point Foundation carries out the Disaster Response and Restoration program by utilizing certified casework for families affected by a disaster to fully examine their ability to recover on their own. RPF helps low- to mid-income families with very little chance to recover without the assistance from volunteers and benevolent sources. Volunteers with RPF go through a thorough preparation and orientation process that prepares the team for family circumstances, job site conditions, and a clear purpose of their time in Mississippi. This is part of the Volunteer Care program in which RPF cultivates and nurtures a relationship with volunteers that results in repeat volunteerism, coordinated volunteer management, and volunteer development and care. The Disaster Training and Education program provides training fellow non-profits on effective disaster volunteer management that includes construction and materials management, volunteer safety training and education, and will include training on effective disaster volunteer preparation. Restoration Point's fourth program, Disaster Response Research, is part of the long-term plan for the organization that involves research into the latest building techniques, green technology, search and rescue methods, and the historical perspective and innovation impact of past disasters.
