Mission Statement

WHY WE DO IT.

We believe our greatest human quality is our emotional connectivity. We want to create a provocative image of social justice, one that features our curves and intersections, and examines the strength of our desires to be free. We do this because we believe there is more power in what connects us than in our differences which has historically been racism’s mythic focus. Healing our collective cultural identity and achieving a thriving global culture begin with social education by reinvigorating a focus on social justice movements. By using dynamic, diverse mediums, we hope to move you to action also by provocation: to get understanding, get collaborative, and get moving! We will arrange the evidence of our connectivity through our desire for liberation on a world wide canvas that might one day make the greatest case for art humanity has ever made.

Description

HE(ART) + SCIENCE: ACTIVATING ART

Art is not static. If it speaks to you, it moves. Our mission is to show the world that working toward social justice is quickly becoming a collective art movement with roots in compassionate consciousness. We want you to hear the stories of people connected emotionally and culturally, to their environments and through their compassion for one another. We strive to recruit canaries whose voices build on the rhythms of collective expression. Mark our lungs, we will smother injustice and oppression with redemption songs!

Our ultimate goal is an abundant, thriving and equitable world composed of structurally and culturally competent communities which can self-assess and realign judiciously in the face of adversity. We are striving to be a reputable resource which creates and distributes original content (or redistributes outside content) that supports collaboration and organizational transparency. Our voice evolves from an expressive-collective storytelling perspective constructed by a team of independent journalists and community groups.
