Mission Statement
The Anaheim High School Trnasportation Academy(ATA) is one of 300 California high school programs based in a "school-within-a-school" supported through a state grant. ATA prepares students for careers in the fields of transportation, engineering, and architecture. ATA focuses on a precise and interdisciplinary set of courses; project-based learning, working together, creativity, and the working with the latest instructive technology; an active involvement of business partners in designing and delivery of the curruculumn; and a handfull of highly skilled, swift knowledge workers well- equipped to handle the increased and ever-changing transportation needs of a global economy
Description
The program first became active in the Fall of 1999 with 30 students from the 10th grade. Students take English, science, social studies and the ATA class as well as electives. Students acquire knowledge from moivational speakers and fieldtrips, motivation activities, teacher support, parental support, and leadership oppotunities.
