The Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village utilizes its collections, historic buildings, exhibitions, and ongoing research programs to communicate to the public America's agricultural heritage, specifically that of Delaware and the Delmarva peninsula from its earliest history. They schieve this through collecting, preserving and educaitonal programs and initiatives.
The Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village is a private, non-profit organizaitn, dedicated to the preservation of Delaware and Delmarvas rural heritage. The Museum opened its doors to the purlic in August 1980. A main exhibit building and fifteen historic structures associated with a nineteenth century farming community bring the story of agriculture to life. More than 4,000 artifacts are displayed in the main exhibit building. Volunteer educators assist with programs designed for school groups. Volunteers also assist with admissions, gift shop duties, special events and ongoing activities.
