Mission Statement

To prevent violence and promote healing by teaching full-force self-defense in a safe and emotionally supportive environment.

Description

For over 20 years, IMPACT Bay Area has been giving people the training they need to defend themselves in real-world situations. Our classes stress the mental, emotional, and verbal aspects of self-defense as well as the physical aspects, and are designed to help people be safer and more secure in all aspects of their lives. Our students regularly tell us that our classes have been life-changing.

IMPACT teaches all around the Bay Area, including the East Bay, San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. We offer courses for adults, teens, children, and girls entering adulthood who are going to be on their own for the first time. We offer classes to people of all genders. We offer both public and private courses, and have partnered with many local schools to offer classes to their students.

I've been a customer/client of Impact. (Only distance stops me from volunteering.) What they do changes lives for the better more than any org I can think of. Because of impact, I have felt able to ask for a raise, work in a jail, and rescue two women from domestic violence! They are truly a life-changing place. Not just making women safe but healing hurts from past abuse, a course is better than therapy:) Please help them help others! (They give scholarships to those in need and are highly inclusive.)
