Description

Angels’ Crossing has a 22 year history of providing an array of social services to children and families in Medina County, Texasand the surrounding area, with offices in Castroville and San Antonio. Based in Castroville, the agency was incorporated in 2001 in order to provide not-for-profit services to foster children. Angels’ Crossing then received its Child Placing Agency (CPA) license in 2006 and began licensing foster homes in South Texas. In 2010, its private/domestic adoption program was implemented and in 2012 the Agency opened a satellite office on the Westside of San Antonio in order to provide services targeting teenage moms.

From its inception in 1990, when Mel and Angie Bendele decided to put all of their time, energy and resources into helping abused and neglected children, Angels’ Crossing has consistently viewed its purpose from a faith-based perspective. In 2002, the Bendele’s transitioned their home into a girls group home and became foster parents to 12 teenage girls. These children were taught the basics about the word of God, academics, cooking, gardening and family life. These faith-based principles continue throughout the Agency today.
