The purpose of CROP Hunger Walk is to raise money to fight hunger locally and globally.

CROP Hunger Walk began in 1946 when farmers came together to share their crops with people in Europe who were suffering the devastation from World War II.

The first CROP Hunger Walk in Winston-Salem was held in 1979, and has been held annually, raising over $1 million to fight hunger. For over 30 years, the CROP Hunger Walk has brought people of different faith communities, cultures and ages together to show their support for the poor, victims of famine, war and disease.
