HSTGC offers the following programs:
The Humane Society of Tom Green County is in constant need of quality foster homes for the dogs and cats we rescue. Approved sponsors give adoptable animals an extended chance at adoption by caring for them in their own home. The goal of each adoptable pet is to find a "forever home." nd and fourth Saturday of every month foster cats and dogs are available for Educational Program
The Humane Society strives to make our community a better place for people and animals. We work with elementary school children and teach them responsible pet ownership, humane treatment of animals, dog bite prevention, and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. We also have essay and drawing contests at the end of the school year. (Jackie Timmerman, Chair)
Feral Cat Program
Entire feral colonies are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and neutered by veterinarians. Volunteers then return the cats to their home. Caretakers make sure that their respective colony has food, water, and shelter.
