Mission Statement
ARRF, Animal Rescue & Relief Foundation of Southwest Illinois, provides first aid and treatment for Sick and Injured stray animals in cooperation with the Animal Control, Police Departments or Humane Officers and Good Samaritans in towns and cities where no Humane Society or program of this type is available.
Whenever possible, the animal or animals are rehabilitated and adopted to a safe, secure home. If the animal is hopelessly injured, he or she is gently eased from this world into God's hands by a veterinarian or trained Humane Officer. ARRF will also provide financial assistance to families or individuals whenever possible, for the purpose of neutering their pets.
We do not go out and rescue animals, but have contracted with Police Departments and Animal Control Officers to transport the animals. Good Samaritans also transport injured animals to area veterinarians and sign a consent form giving ARRF custody of the animal.
Spay-Neuter Certificate Program: ARRF has a second purpose. As funds permit, we offer financial assistance to aid pet owners who may have taken a stray animal and require help to have them spayed or neutered (dependent upon circumstances).
Description
We are looking for volunteers of all ages and skills for a variety of roles -- from Foster Caring of the Animals to participating in our medical care fundraising and spay/neuter educational projects.
