Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
MISSION: Provide non-lethal solutions to pet over-population.
SOLUTION: To furnish professional, affordable spay/neuter programs and to place pets in caring homes.
Pet Allies believes that we can stop pet overpopulation and the resulting deaths of healthy adoptable pets at local shelters. Other communities have managed to become no kill through discounted and free spay and neuter services for the public, together with co-operation among animal organizations to maximize resources available to help pets in shelters find homes.
Pet Allies offers subsidized spay/neuter services to the public in our community. We will alter approximately 1,500 pets in our area each year and the numbers are growing as funding allows. This should decrease animals turned in to the local shelters by 10% - 20%. Additional volunteer capacity will allow us to increase the number of pets altered each month, stopping pet overpopulation at the earliest possible time.
Pet Allies also is a foster based rescue. We take pets from the shelters who are on the list to be killed due to lack of space. We place approximately 150 pets in loving homes each year but can increase that by adding more foster homes.
