Mission Statement
The Center for Positive Aging is a nonprofit agency that connects seniors and their families to the resources they need. We are committed to providing and promoting education, programs and services to all seniors and their families regardless of ethnicity, disability or financial resources.
Description
The Center for Positive Aging prepares people of all ages for an expanded and healthy long life. We are a partnership of individuals, congregations and community organizations promoting and providing health, education and recreation opportunities through volunteer driven programs. In conjunction with First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, we provide a privately funded Meals On Wheels program. We conduct health and outreach fairs to assist seniors with questions about new Medicare policies. We also have seminars about many aging-related issues, such as Caring for Aging Parents, Coping with Grief, Alzheimer's Proofing Your Home, and many other topics. In addition, the Center provides referral services to area seniors in need of housing, home-based services, and care-giver support programs all available through the CONNECT base, which has more than 18,000 listings.
