The Tindley Prep Mission

The Tindley Preparatory Academy, in cooperation with its parents and the broader community, will empower its students - regardless of their past academic performance - to become successful scholars who graduate with the capacity for rigorous high school and college opportunities. Tindley Prep will provide a powerful learning experience that intellectually engages, inspires, and spurs academic achievement through a challenging and interactive curriculum.

Description

Operated by EdPower, Tindley Prep is an all-male middle school designed to spark higher levels of academic achievement in boys. Located in the Meadows area on the Northeast side of Indianapolis, our school fills a critical need for strong education and community development in a low-income, urban environment.

Tindley Prep is an extension of the Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School, which won the Epic Award for Innovative Practices, received a Title I Distinguished School Designation, was qualified to be named an Indiana 4-Star School, and was designated a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education - all in its first seven years of operation.

Like the Tindley School, Tindley Prep places students in a rigorous and powerful learning environment, putting them on track for acceptance at a high-quality 4-year college or university. By providing research-based educational, social and emotional programming specifically for adolescent boys, Tindley Prep gives young urban males the tools they need to become goal-oriented, college-bound scholars.
