Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
RSVP+/ServeYES! invites individuals of all ages to enhance personal growth, develop leadership skills, and meet critical community needs through meaningful volunteer service opportunities. Our statewide organization includes facilitation of AmeriCorps*State--a state-level program of community service that focuses on improving communities and lives. If you live in North Dakota and wish to serve as an AmeriCorps member from October 1, 2015, through May 31, 2016, please contact the RSVP+/ServeYES!--Erin Pringle (701-258-5436 or Erin.Pringle@ndsu.edu) OR Nancy Olson(701.231.7100 or Nancy.Olson@ndsu.edu).
AmeriCorps State volunteer opportunities are part-time (a total of 450 hours) and confer a modest living allowance (total of $3,263). In addition, a completion bonus of $1,515 in the form of an education award that can be used to pay for tuition or to pay down student loans. AmeriCorps volunteers will be placed in schools to help with service-learning, a method that engages students and deepens learning objectives through community service. Reliability, punctuality, enthusiasm, creativity, the desire to work with youth, teachers, and schools, initiative, and commitment to helping others are desirable qualities in AmeriCorps candidates. We are specifically looking for retired teachers, substitute teachers, new teaching graduates, or others with teaching degrees.
