Mission Statement

The mission of the Unicoi County Public Library is to provide a wide-range of library services and programs in an environment where staff, volunteers, children and patrons share a excellence and a concern for the individual. Such services support the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of Unicoi County and the surrounding region of Northeast Tennessee.

Description

The Unicoi County Public Library is the only public library facility serving the 17,000 persons living in the county. We are a full-service library, with a wide range of services and programs for children, adults, and senior citizens. We provide literacy programs and computer classes. We also provide home delivery of materials to home-bound seniors.

The library is a member of the Watauga Regional Library, and is fully integrated with the other public libraries in Northeast Tennessee. We share a common catalog, management system, and regional courier system. We circulate books, videos, audios, and downloadable audio/e-books. We have 10 patron access computers served by high-speed internet.

We have 1 full time staff person, and 3 part-time staff. We utilize approximately 50 volunteers in our services.
