Mission Statement

Floresta, a Christian nonprofit organization, reverses poverty and deforestation in the world by transforming the lives of the rural poor.

Description

We believe that poverty and deforestation are inextricably connected. By using innovative agroforestry methods, we teach farmers in Mexico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Tanzania how to use their land sustainably. As they become empowered, they teach their peers and what was once a cycle of deforestation and poverty becomes upward mobility with hope and dignity.

We also provide a micro credit program to farmers wanting to expand their land and to men and women who need an extra bit of help starting a small business.
