Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary Dept of Michigan

Our organization supports the following: three homes at the VFW National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids, VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, visit s to homebound and hospitalized veterans, sponsoring local girl scout and boy scouts troops, promoting scholarship programs such as the Teacher of the Year Award, Patriot's Pen ( for jr high students) and the Voice Of Democracy Essay (for highschoolers) and the Patriotic Art Contest , assisting needy veterans and families, participating in local flag raisings, memorial services,cemetary visits, and parades. We also put on funeral luncheons for veterans, host childrens parties , adopt a unit( troops stationed overseas in harms way)and adopt three needy families in our area at Christmas. In addition, we also make sizeable donations for Cancer Aid and Research as well as the Political Action Committee. Our auxiliary is proud to help support the Gold Star Mothers, who are the mothers of veterans killed in combat. We hold many fund raisers at our post so we can continue our programs.
