The mission of the National Parkinson Foundation is to improve the lives of people with Parkinson's disease through research, education and outreach. The foundation works each day to fulfill this mission by:
- Educating the Parkinson’s community about the entire spectrum of Parkinson’s disease.
- Serving as a bridge between people with Parkinson’s and their healthcare providers, helping patients and families to get the best care possible.
- Advancing knowledge of Parkinson’s disease through research.
Moving Day is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that unites families, friends and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. This celebration of movement will feature a 5K fun run/walk, a family friendly short course and a special Movement Pavilion featuring yoga, dance, Tai Chi, Pilates, etc. all proven to help manage the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
In Moving Day Chicago’s 3-year history, over a million dollars has been raised in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. During these three years, NPF has funded more than $599,000 in clinical care and research in the Chicago area.
