Mission Statement

Firewall Centers is a South Florida non profit organization that develops long term relationships with middle and high school students through free after school mentoring, tutoring, and servant leadership development.

Description

Did you know that 50% of disadvantaged youth in Broward County don’t graduate from high school? Firewall Centers exists to challenge this statistic and prove that with the right academic help and involvement, these students can not only survive, but thrive.

We accomplish this through three things...

  • First, we have a low student-to-staff ratio of 10:1 at all of our Centers so that students receive the individual attention they need to succeed. We also have college students that not only tutor our students, but that can connect to them in a way adults can’t.
  • The second thing is that we make sure students are held accountable. We know what their homework is; they know what their homework is.
  • And finally, we are able to do all of these things through the long-term relationships we establish with our students. We impact them for not only a few months or even a year; but we stay with them for middle school, high school, and beyond.
