Mission Statement

Alle Kiski Valley Historical whose mission is interpreting, preserving, and celebrating our cultural, industrial, and ethnic heritage of the Allegheny and Kiskiminetas River Valleys in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Description

The Alle Kiski Historical Society is housed in a historical building in Tarentum, Pa. It houses artifacts of the industrial revolution of the Valley, an Alcoa room,and a military display. The museum has rooms made up as Grandma's Kitchen, a dentist, a barber, a saw shop, a general store and a farm with a working shucker. The museum is open 2 days a week for tours or by appointment. AKHS offers a variety of programs such as a display of photographer Eddie Adams work, authors who have written about the Valley, Veteran's Day, children's programs and other events for the community. The Society's largest fundraiser is a monthly Flea-tique from May-October with 250 vendors in attendance.
