Mission Statement

The School of information Technology is designed to prepare and motivate students to develop, operate, maintain, manage and integrate hardware, software, and multimedia systems through the career pathways.

To create a safe and nurturing, 21st century learning community where all students develop the necessary skills to compete in a global society. Eastside High School will emerge as a model urban institution that will prepare all students for higher education opportunities as well as effective job placement readiness.

Description

The school offers two career pathways: Network Security and Game Design. Benefits of graduating from this school include:

  • Strong partnerships with local businesses, community leaders and parents.
  • An introduction to all facets of the information technology industry through activities such as job shadowing, mentoring, and field trips.
  • Opportunity to earn college credits during senior year.
  • Six to eight week internship at companies in technological and related industries (upon successful completion of Grade 11).
  • Academy provides opportunities to develop career goals, leadership skills and civic responsibility.
