Mission Statement

Expand opportunities for low-to-moderate income families of the greater Central Texas area to obtain affordable housing by constructing, rehabilitating, preserving and providing decent, safe, and sanitary housing for these families, to combat the deterioration of the community and contribute to its physical and economic improvement, and to provide home-purchasing (pre-purchase, post-purchase and foreclosure prevention) education and counseling, financial literacy, and credit education.

Description

Homeownership helps build long-term stability, wealth and confidence in families and increase the value and safety of our communities while increasing the overall quality of life and economic vibrancy of our communities. However, the increasing complexity and costliness of the home-purchase process intimidates most families, regardless of age, ethnicity or income. Hard working low- and moderate-income families are often the targets of predatory and unscrupulous lenders who promise the dream of homeownership but provide these families nightmare predatory loan products with characteristics which include excessive fees, high interest rates, high closing costs and balloon payments, just to name a few. Therefore, Frameworks CDC offers homebuyer education and counseling to help these families overcome or avoid these obstacles and to help create sustainable homeownership through classroom training and individual one-on-one counseling. Frameworks CDC is a trusted and valued community partner that helps families identify affordable community-lending loan products. Frameworks CDC works extensively with the community to provide financial literacy, credit education, home-buyer education, mortgage preparation and other community-building services in order to help people understand how to manage their money, maintain and/or develop healthy credit.
