Mission Statement
The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn encourages the positive development and enhances the quality of life for the youth of the greater Lynn area, by providing service based on principles of behavioral guidance, social, educational, vocational, character, athletic and leadership disciplines, the Club will be a safe, welcoming and positive environment for all youth.
The club's mission is to serve as a family and community resource, on a need-blind basis, that works through other agencies, its members, civic leaders and clergy to achieve these goals.
Description
For 117 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn has been in the forefront of youth development, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances. The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn has actively sought to enrich the lives of boys and girls whom other agencies failed to reach. The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn is dedicated to ensuring that our community's disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives, provide lifelong memories as we prepare them for their road of life.
The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn is part of a nationwide affiliation of local autonomous organization, working to help youth of all backgrounds develop qualities needed to become responsible citizens. A facility-based organization employs 12 paid professionals supplemented by 16 part-time program assistants. We offer daily programming in what is designated as our core program areas: Life Skills, Education & Career, The Arts, Character & Leadership Development, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
Today, over 2800 boys and girls at risk and in need are taking advantage of the programs, activities and services provided by the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn. They benefit from trained, caring, professional staff and volunteers who help young people take control of their lives and dare to dream.
