The Mission of Northern Humans Services is to assist people affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities and related disorders in living more meaningful lives.
Common Ground, a program of Northern Human Services, is committed to the belief that those we serve have the right to fully experience life. It is our role to assist the community in supporting each of its members along their journey.

Specifically Common Ground facilitates the opportunity for individuals to pursue their unique and personal visions. We do not place a person in a program, we support a person in building a life.
We support people with developmental disabilities by providing service coordination, assistance in building community relationships, individualized options, employment assistance, career and life planning, independent living skills, interest-based activities, community resource development, nursing consultation, residential services, financial management, peer support, speech therapy, a variety of trainings.
We have created a volunteer program called GroundBreakers to promote recreational and community involvement for the people we serve.
