Hospice of the Pines

Description

The philosophy of hospice care is that a patient with a life-limiting disease has the right to live his or her final days comfortably, to the fullest extent possible, and to experience a dignified and peaceful death. Volunteers are matched both to the patient and to the situation or duty. There are many choices for a volunteer in hospice care- everything from administrative duties to patient contact. Just being a friend is a common role. Volunteers complete a 24 hour training done over 8 weeks.
