Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We strive to: *Provide assistance, shelter, and humane care for all lost, abused, neglected or unwanted animals *Reunite lost pets with their families *Place homeless animals with caring, responsible guardians through various adoption programs *Foster the humane treatment of all animals through education on population control, animal abuse, and ownership responsibilities *Promote spay/neuter as the best way to reduce the population of unwanted animals
We are a small, privately funded, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that depends upon donations and fundraisers to cover our costs of operation. All donations are tax deductible. We are not a county agency, so we do not receive county funding. The Starke County Humane Society Animal Shelter accepts animals from Knox, Starke County, and Pulaski County Animal Control Officers. We, also, accept animals from any private individual. We adopt animals to any caring, responsible guardian from anywhere, as long as he or she is willing to meet our contractual requirements. A large portion of the work done within our organization is done by volunteers both in and out of our animal shelter environment. We are always in need of responsible, reliable volunteers.
