Mission Statement
Packages of Hope, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides needed supplies, such as clothes, over the counter medicines, shoes, bedding, school supplies, libraries, playgrounds and toys to children living in orphanages in desperate conditions. We currently work with over twenty orphanages throughout China.

List of Current Core Programs
Libraries of Hope: Libraries of Hope is a program by Packages of Hope that provides books and reading areas to children living in orphanages in China. The cost of this project can range from $550 and up, depending on space availability at the orphanage, and the average age of the children in the orphanage (books for older children cost more than books for younger children). For example, $550 will set up a small library, including 30+ toddler books, 40+ elementary books, and 40+ middle school books. Also included in this amount are small shelves for the toddlers to walk up to and shelving on wheels for the older kids' books. These books have been carefully selected as being children's favorites and classics and are ordered from a book manufacturer in Shanghai. Additional funds can go towards providing reading tables with chairs, cots and/or expanded shelving. Suzhou , Beihai, ShenYang, Kaiyuan, Lanzhou, ChangDe, Quanjiao, Dongchuan, Siping, Jinzhou, Lincang, and LianChuang are orphanages that have already received or will be receiving Libraries of Hope.
Playgrounds: We love providing playgrounds to orphanages to China! A stimulating play environment is a wonderful way to improve the children's mental and physical abilities, and is a donation that is permanant at the orphanage. A nice playground can be installed for about $4,500. To date, we have provided indoor and/or outdoor playgrounds to the following orphanages: Suzhou, Beihai, Jinzhou, YongFeng, Jian and ChangDe. A playground is currently being installed LianChang while Lotus Travel families will be visiting during a Homeland Tour. Installation should be complete by the end of June 2006.
Packages of Hope: Packages of Hope provides "Packages of Hope" to over twenty orphanages throughout China. With the help of our local volunteers, we're able to determine the needs and seek to meet them. Items are purchased directly in China or shipped from our office. Donations are often shipped directly to a Packages of Hope, Inc. volunteer within the sponsored country who then personally delivers and oversees the donations. Sometimes items are delivered by adoptive families who are traveling to their child's birth country, or delivered by Packages of Hope, Inc. volunteers making orphanage visits. Thousands of supplies such as blankets, children's vitamins, cleft palate bottles, toys, school supplies, over the counter medicines, clothes, baby bouncers, etc. are shipped every month. With the exception of specialized needs, the majority of the donations we ship are donated to us.
