I’ve been a volunteer and member of WAMSO-Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association for over 20 years. A friend invited me and my daughter to a Kinder Konzert program at Orchestral Hall. My daughter loved being introduced to the musicians, listening to them perform while sharing the stage with them, and having the opportunity to touch and play the violin, the snare drum and experience songs and music with other children her age. I enjoyed the professional way the Docents presented the program and was asked if I’d like to volunteer. It is not necessary to have a background in music to volunteer. Volunteer Docent training is provided. Other programs include: Kinder Konzerts on the Road, Young Artist Competition, ACCENT, Vintages of Note, Settings of Note, and ushering. Let this recommendation be the invitation for YOU to join WAMSO-Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association and share the love of music, education and the Minnesota Orchestra with our community.
