Mission Statement

The Road to College 5K’s purpose is to serve the Athens community as a grassroots effort to increase awareness of the low graduation rates in Georgia (specifically Clarke County at 66.1%)² and to rally the support of our community in aiding our students with on-time graduation and pursuit of post-secondary education. Additionally, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the formation of a scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to an in-need Clarke County School District high school senior planning to pursue higher education. The recipient of the scholarship must be planning to enroll in a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school in the fall of 2014.
