At Jefferson Center, we strive every day to create a solid foundation for the performing arts. As a 501(c)3 organization, we specialize in maximizing the use of Shaftman Performance Hall by programming world class artists, including those in our Star City, Jazz, Family, and Jazz Club Series. Additionally, we focus on our mission, established more than two decades ago, to ensure that Jefferson Center is a community space.
When the1920’s era Jefferson High School was saved from demolition and transformed into the arts center you know today, organizers stayed focus on managing the space respectfully and efficiently, giving this region every opportunity to host sustainable, community productions in a one-of-a-kind venue. That focus continues today with hundreds of events such as regional concerts, graduations, community theater productions, opera performances, business retreats, and many more.
Additionally, Jefferson Center focuses on music education programs such as its Music Lab to give local children every opportunity to create, produce and perform their music. Music Lab encourages discipline and builds the leaders of tomorrow through various performance collaboratives, artist residency projects, and team building.
