Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian housing ministry seeking to eliminate poverty housing and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity of Tulare County is building houses, building lives, building hope, and building community.

Description

We work with low-income families to provide decent, affordable housing. Families who partner with HFHTC work on thier own homes contributing 500 hours of "sweat equity". After the houses are completed, the families then purchase the home using a no-interest, no-profit Habitat mortgage. Monthly payments do not exceed 30% of thier montly income. Eighty percent of every Habitat home is built by volunteers.
