Mission Statement
The Rappahannock Area Kids on the Block is a year round program dedicated to educating youth and adults about disability awareness, health and safety through the medium of puppetry. We serve Planning District 16 which encompasses the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, Caroline and King George.
Description
The Rappahannock Area Kids on the Block is a unique troupe of nearly life sized, disabled puppets, that look and dress like real children.
As a role model and friend these puppets speak to school aged children about tolerance and understanding of people with disabilities, differences and social concerns.
The RAKOB is a non-profit agency of the Rappahannock Area Community Services Board (RASCB) and the Rappahannock United Way.
Support is generated through donations and grants.
