Mission Statement

The Adversity 2 Advocacy Alliance is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and fostering the power of turning personal challenges into service to others with similar challenges. To this end, A2A has three primary objectives: (1) Network and support inspiring individuals who have turned adversity into advocacy; (2) Provide pathways to advocacy for anyone facing adversity; and (3) Showcase the proven power of turning adversity into advocacy.

Description

Team A2A is an all-volunteer group of dedicated men and women committed to promoting and fostering the power of turning adversity into advocacy.

Our ranks include leading researchers; nationally-known heath and wellness advocates; established and student journalists; doctors, teachers, attorneys, and other professionals; and numerous individuals who have turned their life challenges into service to others with similar challenges.

While each of us on our board of directors, leadership council, and growing team of advisors and volunteers brings to the project a unique perspective, all of us share a passion for the A2A concepts of service, purpose, empathy, and resilience.

Our story traces its roots to the summer of 1997, and continues to evolve with the growing participation of countless individuals around the world.
